The Clio High School Athletic Department is excited to announce the hiring of our newest Head Varsity Football Coach, Mr. Adam Clark.

Coach Clark graduated from Swan Valley High School, playing football, basketball, and baseball for the Vikings. He was an all-conference selection his senior year as a member of Swan Valley’s first ever playoff qualifying team.

Upon graduation Coach Clark enlisted in the US Air Force, serving in the Middle East and Europe for much of his service period.

Married to Melissa for 25 years, they have soon to be 12 year old twin sons, Everitt and Gibson, who currently attend Swan Valley Schools, where Melissa is a fourth grade teacher.

Coach Clark’s coaching experience spans 30 years, 15 as a head varsity football coach. As the smallest enrollment school in their conference division, Hemlock qualified for the playoffs 10 out of 15 years. Coach Clark’s teams have won a conference championship, competed for several district championships and earned historic victories, such as the 2019 defeat of the #1 AP ranked Ithaca Yellow Jackets and #2 AP ranked MLS Cardinals.

Coach Clark has been recognized several times over his career for coaching awards and distinctions, including being named MHSAA Regional Coach of the Year in 2020, but what he values most is the relationships built with his players.

There are zero short cuts to winning on the football field. Coach Clark is tremendously excited to be a Mustang and looking forward to working together to achieve student-athlete success on and off Clio’s fields and courts.

Coach Clark will also be teaching in the district beginning after Spring Break.

Let’s Go Mustangs!!!!
