Hello Clio Dream Team Parents and Guardians,
On Monday, April 8th, there will be a Solar Eclipse. Sadly, our region will not see a Total Eclipse, much to Bonnie Tyler's chagrin. However, our dynamic STEAM teacher Mrs. Phillips has been teaching our students all about this phenomenon. The solar eclipse will be happening approximately from 2:00 to 4:20 with the peak of the eclipse being most noticeable in our region around 3:13 pm. Teachers will communicate with parents if they are doing anything beyond the lessons in STEAM class such as observing via live streaming from a location getting 100% peak viewing, up to possibly going outside with protective glasses or apparatus they can use to look at the shadows cast rather than directly at the sun.
We need you (Just like in the song Total Eclipse of the Heart)! Parents should prepare their children appropriately. You may want to purchase protective glasses for this event, especially the times when students are expected to be more independent, like on the bus ride home. Otherwise, they simply need to turn around (again, thanks to Bonnie for such instructive lyrics) and not look at the sun the same as every day to protect their retinas. We are asking for your help to emphasize the importance of being careful with our eyes because the only ones who can truly control that are the children themselves. Our staff will certainly remind students to refrain from looking directly at the Sun as well on Monday. Thank you for your efforts in this matter.

We are rounding up our Mini Mustangs for the Class of 2037! Please RSVP to one of our three Kindergarten round up events by clicking here: https://forms.gle/SnNHG7TeETriRo3aA

If you are available to lend a helping hand for this special event, please check in at the Orange Office at 5 pm. The event runs 5:30-7 pm.

Safety and security for both students and staff are of utmost importance in Clio Area Schools. Thanks to voter support of our 2020 Bond, new locks were installed that allow anyone to instantly lock or unlock classroom doors, from the inside only, without having to find or retrieve a key. There are many examples like this that seem like small things and may go unnoticed, but that could indeed play a signicant role in keeping students and staff safe in an emergency. We appreciate the community's support.
